Happy Mother's Day!

I just want to wish all of my crafty buddies out there a very Happy Mother's Day!  I hope you get to take the time to enjoy your loved ones and remember those who have passed that remain in your heart.  I am very blessed to have a wonderful husband of 18 years and two fantastic boys (one 17 and one 13)  They grow up so fast!  I am going to enjoy every minute with them-every second!  I have taken a break from the crafting world to spend more time with my boys.  My oldest will be graduating next year and I feel him slipping through my fingers as we speak.  He is growing into a wonderful young man and I am so very proud of him.  Before I know it he is going to be in college.  My youngest is working his way through adolescents and is trying to find his way.  I hope you all are able to enjoy this wonderful day enjoying your family.
I will be working on some projects in the near future so stick around!  I am looking forward to a family Disney trip and of course, the Creating Keepsakes Convention in July!!!!  Happy Mother's Day and I hope you have a fantastic day, maybe sneak in some crafting?!

Earth Day is coming!!!

Hello everyone!!  Wow time flies.  It has been quite a while since I posted anything on my blog.  Life gets in the way sometimes.  The Pendarvis family has been quite busy around the house lately.  We have been working on planting flowers, cleaning up the yard, and getting the swimming pool ready to open up in a few weeks.  Spring finally decided to make an appearance.  Honestly, I never thought it would get here.  Well, here is a quick and easy project I made so I thought I would share.
I used the Hoot and Holler cartridge for these Earth Day cards.  A teacher in my building sponsors the "Green" club and asked me to whip up some thank you cards for students who made contributions throughout the school year.  They will be attached to a reusable water bottle as a thank you gift for all of their hard work.  Our school recycles so many things such as plastic, glass, clothes, rain water, paper, and juice pouches!  Not only is our school saving the planet but we are earning money for our school!!! I hope you will be doing something to stay "GREEN" on Earth Day and everyday.  Have a super week!!

Happy Easter!!

This is card that I made last Easter and I love it so much I thought I would post it up on the blog again!  I made another card for my Mom-but Mom if you are reading this you will be getting the card late :0.  I want to add a photo of the boys :).
I used everything in my craft room except for my Cricut :0!!!!  I made this Easter card using DCWV spring paper pack, Sew Easy from Memory Makers to add the stitching, Basic Grey button brads, buttons, McGill punch for label, Martha Stewart punch for the edging, scallop punch, 1 3/8 and 1 1/2 circle punches, Prima Flowers, My Creative Time "Color Me Happy" and "Happy Hunting" stamps, Close to My Heart "Watermelon" ink pad, ribbon, and Copic Markers to add some color to the bunny stamp! The finished card is 4 1/4 by 5 1/2.
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!

Happy Easter Banner

My mantle was a little plain so I decided to spruce it up and make an Easter banner.  Well if you know me, I have to draw it, sketch it out, and design it on paper before I just start cutting away.  But this time I just started cutting and went with it!  I used the Easter 2010 cartridge to cut the eggs at 6 inches.  Happy Easter and the bunny were cut at 4 inches.  I made the polka dots from a 1 inch circle punch and added them to the lavender eggs to give them a little design.   Actually this project did not take very long to make which is why I enjoyed making it so much!
Trying to decorate the house for Easter in hopes to put a little "spring" in my step.  Spring sure has taken its time making an appearance.  I hope everyone is having a fantastic week!

Another testing treat for students :)

I just realized that I not only forgot to write a post on my blog this week but also forgot to take pictures of all the testing treats I made for my students.  I think I have a severe case of spring break LOL.  I took this photo at school using my camera phone.  I decided to use the Blow Pops in lieu of the Blow Pop chewable candies.  I made a set for my class and for another third grade class to wish them luck on the second round of state testing.  We finally finished the testing today!!!  Time for celebrations and fun times this week.  My students have worked so hard this year and they deserve a special treat.  I used Create a Critter 2 and cut the top hats at 4 1/2 inches.  Again, this is a super quick and easy craft to create for students.  My kind of style!!!
These were the treats that I made last year using the Pooh and Friends cartridge for the top hat-cut at 5 inches.

Time for testing and time for a treat!!

Well, its that time of year again.  State testing time!  I love to encourage my students by cheering them on with this super cute treat.  I prefer using the computer and label paper to print out the message rather than hand write the sentiment.  Not to mention it makes things move along a little faster when creating.
We have worked so hard this year and I am sure my kiddos will do great!
The overalls were cut using the Paper Dolls cartridge.  I used the blackout feature and cut them at 7 inches.  I was able to get 8 pants out of a 12 by 12 sheet of paper.  Super easy, super quick, and super cute!!!  (my motto)  The one thing that I love about all of my Cricut machines is that they save me a lot of time and I know I could not do all of the things in my classroom without them.  Have a super great week everyone and wish us luck on the testing!!!
Oh and I forgot to mention that the East Coast is expecting a coastal storm.  Where in the world is Spring already????? :0
