Welcome your students back to school with this treat!

On the first day of school I like for my students to have a little treat or surprise waiting for them on their desk.  I usually fill these with 2 pencils, a bookmark, and some Smarties candy.  One word of advice, if you have the Gypsy USE IT!  I don't know why I didn't use mine!  ;)  Weld the letters together and add the word welcome prior to cutting it out.  It becomes a little painstaking trying to glue each and every letter down onto the apple LOL!  Another thought-you could also put "Welcome to Ms./Mr. _____ Class!" on the apple.

Materials used for this project:
Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More cartridge for the pocket (listed on page 113 -cut at 8 inches)
Makin' the Grade cartridge for the apple (listed on page 120-cut at 2 1/2 inches)
Locker Talk cartridge for the words "Back to School" (listed on page 35-cut at 2 1/2 inches)
DCWV Grade School paper pack
ribbon
Close to My Heart-black inkpad
2 pencils
pop dots
ATG gun

  1. This is precious! I am in back-to-school mode myself. I teach 2nd grade. I recently used my Gypsy & Cricut to make a type of quilt for my bulleton board with the kids names on it. Each square is an 8x8 page and each is different. Glad to find you!

  2. I would love to see a picture of the quilt-I teach 3rd and we read a story called "The Keeping Quilt" what a great idea to tie into that story!! Thanks for posting ;)

  3. I love this idea. I do not have Tags, bags, boxes, and more. Do you have any idea of another envelope that could be used to create this? Thanks! All of your creations are wonderful. Thanks for sharing them!

  4. Hi Ms. Krug!
Yes! there is another cartridge that will create a pocket envelope...I just can't think of it right now. I am in Myrtle Beach on vacation-when I get back I will look for it. I want to say it is the Plantin Schoolbook or Locker Talk cartridge but I'm not positive. I will check this weekend and get back to you! :)
