A very, very sad time for our family

Our family pet, Ringo passed away on Tuesday (December 7th) .  Ringo passed away very unexpectedly.  It has been such a shock.  I cannot express in words just how painful this loss is.  The physical and emotional pain that I personally feel right at this moment is the most horrible feeling in the world.  He was such a sweet, smart, and loving pet and we were so very fortunate to have had this precious, beautiful creature in our lives for the past six years.  He provided love, comfort, and was quite the therapy for our youngest son who has Autism.

Last weekend I had my friends over with their daughters to have a scrapbook and crafting night.  Ringo laid across my feet (as he usually did when I scrapbooked in the basement) while I was painting a bird house with my son.  The girls spoiled him and he loved the attention he got that evening!  I started a scrapbook when he was a puppy-this has been the only thing that seems to get me through this tough time.  Being able to see his face helps the pain of the loss.  So I guess my advice to anyone out there who has a loving pet that is more than just an animal -but who is actually a part of the family.....remember to take photos and scrapbook them.  These precious creatures enter our lives and fulfill them with unconditional love. I never want to forget him so I will be honoring him by completing my scrapbook and making sure that everyone who knew him understood just how special he was to our family and also how much of a companion he was to me personally.  I love and miss you Ringo!!!

  9. I am so sorry for your loss. Go to www.rainbowbridge.com and read the Rainbow Bridge poem. Our neighbors lost their dog, Madison a year ago at Thanksgiving. She was the sweetest boxer and was just like one of the kids. A co-worker gave my neighbor a copy of the poem a few weeks ago. Later that day they ended up purchasing another boxer that looks a lot like Madison. She will be missed as much as your dog, but I hope this poem brings you some peace in your time of saddness. Hugs!

  11. I am so sorry for your loss. I know exactly how you are feeling right now. I lost my 10 year old Bichon Frise in September to Kidney Failure. It happened so fast. My heart hurts every day for him. It is the most horrible thing to go through when you loose your pet. I used to take pictures of him all the time. I'm so glad I did because looking at them helps alot.

  12. Wendy,

I am a new follower of your blog. It looks great! I just wanted to comment when I saw this post because it really touched my heart. I am so sorry for your loss. I have grown up with dogs my whole life and have experienced the pain of losing one. I currently have a little dachshund name Mickey who means more to me then the world does. It makes me so sad to see his muzzle graying.

Just remember, you will always have his memories in the scrapbooks you have of him.

  13. i just came across your blog from the Cricut mb. Im so sorry to hear of Ringo's sudden passing. I have been all too familiar this past year with losing pets. My own girl Cali, passed last March and I never got to say goodbye because she lived with her dad (my ex hubby)in another state. I have missed her since the day they moved and miss her even more now. Pets are always in our hearts because they are so much a part of our lives. Hope you and your family are doing ok. Scrapping an album for his memory is wonderful. Take care!
