Halloween goodie bags for students!!!!!!!!!!!

I made these super cute and simple Halloween goodie bags this evening!  I used the Doodlecharms cartridge (which will always be a favorite of mine!) for the pumpkin.  He was cut out at 4 inches.  I used a Tim Holtz stamp for the "Happy Halloween" sentiment.  You can crank these guys out so fast!!!  Just wanted to share a simple project that you can make for your kids, classmates, or your students.  Have a spooooooky week everyone!!!!!!

Halloween Banner!!!

Happy Sunday everyone!!  I wanted to re-share an old post.  As I was pulling everything out to decorate for Halloween, I came across this banner I made last year using the October 31st and Happy Haunting cartridges.

This is one of my favorite projects that I have ever made!!!  I really loved using the glossy accents to make the bats and other pieces shine and shimmer.  I hope everyone has had an opportunity to design festive and creative home decor for the holidays!!!!!!

Now it is off to finish those last minute Halloween and Fall cards.  If I could only think of some Christmas card ideas....too hard to commit to one design or concept!!  I am in love with the newest cartridge releases.....can't wait to get my hands  on them!!!  Have a fantastic week everyone.  :)

Happy Monday Everyone!!
Well I decided to pull out some of the chipboard that I purchased over a year ago!  I had some difficulty in cutting it on my Expression. After playing with it for a few hours I found that using a new blade and a new mat was the way to go. Here are a few tips I thought I would share:

022- A medium to heavy cardstock. Place your blade between 5-6, speed 4, set your pressure to Max and use your multi cut button at 4
.024- Thin similar to cereal box cardboard. Set your Cricut at the same levels as the .022 weight.
.028- This weight seems to work best with the Cricut. Set your blade to 6, speed between 4-5, and the pressure set to Max, multi cut button set to 2.
.032- This is very similar to the .028 weight and the cutting recommendations are the same.
.040 and higher will not work with the Cricut. They are too thick and may possibly damage your Cricut machine. I would highly recommend not using this on your machine.

Good luck with using chipboard with your Cricut!! I love the fact that you can make tags, chipboard photo albums, etc. I am headed down into the dungeon to create a chipboard album today.....wish me luck!  Have a fantastic day!!!  :)

Prince Birthday Banner

A very sweet and dear friend of mine asked me (well I really begged her!) to make a birthday banner for her 2nd child's 1st birthday.  She said she wanted to go with a Prince theme-I searched and searched and finally came up with the Paper Dolls cartridge for the Prince and the Dragon.  The castle came from the Imagine Blast Off cartridge.  I used the layer feature on the Imagine so that it would blend in with the layering of the Expression cuts.  I used the Birthday Bash cartridge for the banners and the Mickey Font for the lettering (welded on the Gypsy)  Provo craft if you are out there and listening....WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A PRINCE CARTRIDGE JUST FOR BOYS!!!  I found plenty of princess ideas for the girls but when it came to the boys well...... the cartridges fell a little short.

I gave the dragon a google eye and added some bling using diamond stickles.

I love how the Imagine offers the option of layering.  This castle was perfect!

I matched the yellow and blue paper to the paper plates my friend provided.  I also used Spellbinders die-cuts for the circles and lacey circles.

This was a super fun and easy project to make.  Now it is off to creating some Halloween projects for my boys, my students, and my co-workers.  I hope you all have a chance to work on something fun this week!
