Quick Quotes 2-page layout

Don't laugh but I made this 2 page layout at a CKC scrapbooking convention last year!!! LOL  I am a little behind in adding my photos :)  I took a Quick Quotes class and had a blast!!!  I thought adding these pool photos would make a super layout.
I am looking forward to attending the CKC convention again this year in Lancaster, PA.  I am a little disappointed that it appears fewer  vendors attend as each year passes ;(  I have a feeling that even though there are die-hard scrappers and crafters, the economy has hit everyone and some companies are pulling back from teaching the classes and putting up vending stations at the conventions.  This makes me sad because I love to purchase their items and living in the Southern Maryland area, makes it very hard to purchase them locally.  But.....regardless I wouldn't miss this convention for anything!!!  Hope everyone is having a fantastic and happy week.

Playing with more stamps and ink

I was playing around in the craft dungeon for most of the day today-it is rainy and cold here in Southern Maryland.  What a temperature change from yesterday!  It was almost eighty degrees on Saturday with the sun shining as bright as could be.  We are truly having Spring weather!  I needed to make some cards for our wonderful school secretaries.  So I pulled out the ink and started to stamp away!  Hope you enjoy.  Have a fantastic week.

Finishing more scrapbook pages!!

I have always loved watching my oldest son, Patrick, play the game of Lacrosse.  Partly because I am such a football fan and Lacrosse combines football, soccer, and hockey all in one.  These pictures were taken over a year ago during a summer Lacrosse camp.  (see how far behind I am??? not to mention I am still working on those elementary school albums LOL)  Anyway, I used this really cool stamp set from Boxer Scrapbooks-it had all different types of Lacrosse symbols and sayings.  I used the stamps to create my own pattern for the first page under the word "game".  I used the George Basic Shapes cartridge to cut out the stars at 1, 2 and 3 inches.  All of the patterned paper and cardstock is from CTMH.  The chipboard was something I had laying around (although it is white and not cream it still worked for the page)  I was really happy with the way it turned out.  Can you believe I managed to complete a double page layout today?!  Wow I think I have impressed myself :)  Well it is off to baking a cake, making deviled eggs, and dying some Easter eggs with the boys.  YES, they still like to dye eggs LOL  Happy Easter everyone!!!

Coolin' off scrapbook page

Well I decided to dust off my scrapbooking paper stash and get crackin' on some of those pages that I wanted to complete.  This is my youngest son, Ryan who absolutely loves Popsicles and boy was it hot that day!!!  I love the expression on his face while looking at the yummy treat!  I used the Storybook cartridge for the frame (fit to page), the Summer Celebrations cartridge was used for the "coolin' off" and Popsicles both cut at 3 inches.  The "Guy" DCWV paper pack came in handy for coordinating colors for the pictures.  I also used a 1 3/8 circle punch, Creative Memories star punch, and some silver star brads to add some touches.  It felt really great to sort through some of my photos and actually complete some pages.  Well it is off to the craft dungeon to finish more!!!  Hope you are having a fantastic week.  Easter will be here before you know it!!!  :)

World Autism Awareness Day
The fifth annual World Autism Awareness Day is on April 2. People, schools, organizations, and companies are hosting events around the world.

My youngest son, Ryan was diagnosed with high functioning autism nine years ago.  He is now twelve years old and makes my life a wonderful adventure.   Our family has experienced many things with Ryan-sometimes it feels like a roller coaster ride and other times we feel like we are on a cruise!!
Autism is not scary. It’s heart-wrenching to learn about it and grow with it, but seeing the positives in my son is what  keeps me going. I don’t want people to shrug away from me when they hear that “A” word – I want people to ask questions, to get to know the autism we live-It is different for every single person.
Everyone has their own challenges, I never want to discount that about anyone or claim that my life is harder. I also don’t want people to assume life is easy living with a person who has autism. We still have challenges that wear me out and hurt my heart but I wouldn't want my life any other way! Most importantly, I’d like to emphasize the importance of celebrating everything – even the small stuff. For some people the small stuff IS the big stuff.
Lastly, reach out for support. Get involved in a charity related to your need. Talk with other moms with special-needs children. Speak up when something doesn’t feel right. Share stories, celebrate every single day, eat some chocolate, and most of all craft!
