Olympic Blog Hop!!!!!!

Welcome to the July 27th Olympic Blog Hop!!!!

I created a double page layout using the Summer Celebrations and Mickey Font cartridges.  The letters and numbers were cut at 1 3/4 inches, runner was cut at 6 1/2 inches, and the Olympics torch was cut at 5 inches.  Both photo mats were cut to fit a 4 x 6 photo.  The paper used for this project came from Close To My Heart (Blue Ribbon paper pack)

Come join in on the fun and follow along:

Its time for a give away!!!!

Well I think it is about time for a give away this week!!!!  Who is ready to win this fabulous Scrap'n Easel?!!  I had the opportunity to work with one over the weekend while scrapbooking some of my Disney photos and fell in love with what it can do for you!!!  This scrapbook tool eliminates you having to bend over or stand up to look at your pages to see if everything is aligned the way you want.  I also love the fact that the magnets keep everything in place while you are trying to design your page because we know once it is down onto the paper it is very difficult to remove or replace unless you use re-positional adhesive.  Another nice feature is that it can fold and be tucked away-great space saver!!!  I am not sure how I scrapbooked without it! Thank you Carol for introducing me to this product!!! ;)

Thank you cards

I think I am ahead of the game this year!  I feel like I always scramble at the last minute to create thank you cards throughout the school year.  So I decided to create a few simple cards to have handy when I need them in a rush!  I used the Recess Lite cartridge for the apple and cut it at 4 inches.  I chalked the edges of the leaf and stem to give it some dimension-used a white gel pen to give it some shine and applied a little to the cheeks.  The stamp that I used for this happy face is from Peachy Keen's Snow Cutie Face Assortment 1 3/8', and the Hero Arts stamp set "A Special Note of Thanks", some Basic Grey brads, DCWV Grade School Stack, and the DCWV High School Stack for this super cute notebook paper!!!
I think I am going to make more thank you cards, birthday cards, etc., so I can keep them in my desk at school.  Lots of ideas floating around......just wish I could wave my magic wand to do the laundry, clean the floors, and scrub the bathrooms so I could spend more time crafting!!

Back to School gift for students

Not sure if I really like how these turned out.  I purchased this owl stamp from Michaels and I have been playing around with it.  I used Memento ink and pens to add color but am still not sure I like them.  I might cut out small owls from the Hoot n' Holler lite cartridge and put on the pencils.  I am just not sure how small I can cut them....guess I will play around and find out!
Working on bulletin board ideas and seating options for my classroom.  Lots of changes this year including a new reading program and teaching the Core Curriculum in all content areas.  Guess I'll be needing my seat belt so I can hold on for the wild ride that will begin in August!
I am still working on that super big project that I cannot wait to share.  I am hoping to have it completed before I go back to school.  I am keeping my fingers crossed!!!
Well it is off to making more goodies for my new students and attempting to finish my Disney album before we venture back there next June!!!  Stay cool my crafty friends :)

More Owl Classroom projects

I have to admit that I am really enjoying the "Hoot N' Holler" Lite cartridge for this year's classroom theme!!  I cut the owls at "fit to page" which cut the image at 10 1/4 inches, then cut the scallop from the Birthday Bash cartridge "fit to page" and the numbers were cut from the Mickey Font cartridge (one of my favs!!!)
I am going to hang them from the ceiling above the student desks to create groups.  I have so many things that I want to get done before I go back on the 16th of August which is right around the corner.  In the meantime, I am going to try and finish my Disney album and get ready for the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Lancaster, PA at the end of this month!!!!  Hope everyone is having a wonderful week-it is a hot one!!

Look Whooooooo got their craft mojo back!!

I am having some fun with creating this years theme for school!!  It is actually a garden theme but I am so in love with owls lately that I decided to make them my theme for the classroom.  I am sure I can fit the owls in with some gardening fun as well!
I cut the banners from the Birthday Bash cartridge at 5 inches, handmade the rosettes (yes I know there is a cartridge for Rosettes and I actually do have it but I really enjoy making them!) I used the circle scallop punch from Stampin' up and the Mickey Font cartridge (welded on the gypsy) for the words (BBES A Great Place to Grow).  I found some material at JoAnn Fabrics called Stacking Owls which is now out of print :( but was able to get my hands on more yards from a store in Delaware who was gracious enough to send it to my local store!!!!!
I am making more items and have finally gotten my crafting groove back!  Have you ever felt like you were just not able to come up with those crafting ideas?  Lately I have had my mind on the beach, pool, and spending valuable, precious time with my boys this summer.  This past weekend I was able to scrap and craft with my buddies and feel like my mojo is finally back again.  Whoot Whoot!!!
I am working on a very special project that I hope to share with you over the next month or so.  I am so excited about it and cannot wait!!!!
Have a super day and I will post the rest of the classroom projects this week!!!!!

Happy Summer everyone!!!!

Hello everyone!!!  I hope this blog post finds you well and happy.  It is 102 degrees here in Southern Maryland today with a heat index of 105-110 wheww!!!!   If you haven't noticed already, I have been making some changes to my blog.  It will now be called Create Your Classroom in lieu of Cricut Your Classroom.  Don't worry, I still love my Cricut machines and will be using them as often as I can.  To my faithful followers my new URL will be:

http://Createyourclassroom.com

This will take effect in three weeks.  If you have added my web page to your favorites, you will need to change the URL soon.  I have some very exciting things to share over the next few months and I cannot wait to tell you about them!!!!

As for now, I hope you are enjoying your summer days having fun in the sun, crafting and creating to your heart's desire :)  I will be heading down to the craft dungeon after I take a dip in the pool with my boys!!!!!  Take care and stay tuned!!!!!!!

Fun was had by all!!  We headed to Chantilly, VA to shop and enjoy each other at the GAS.  Look who we ran into again this year.....the one and only Jenni Bowlin!!!  She is a true Southern Maryland gal and is one of the sweetest people I have met in this industry thus far.  If you have an opportunity, you should check out her site :  http://www.jennibowlin.com
to see all of her fabulous paper products and embellishments.  Pictured in this photo from left to right-Carol Broome (sweet dear friend of mine), Jenni Bowlin, me and Lynda Hamm (another sweet dear friend!)
Pictured in this photo from left to right:  Wendy Buckler (my oldest and dearest BFF!!!), Mandy (who I recently have had the pleasure of meeting and have helped enable her new craft habit LOL, and Lynda who is an incredible card maker and friend!!!
