Well hello everyone!!  It has been a long time since I have been able to post anything on my blog.  This school year has me swirling in a bubble and I can't get it under control!  This is a picture of the third grade team at my school.  I am the dog!  We decided to each be a character from the "Give a......" series. I decided to be the dog in "If You Give a Dog a Donut" (thank you Lynda Hamm for letting me borrow the book!)  I cut the donuts out at 11 1/2 inches using the Sweet Treats Cricut cartridge and I also cut out the cupcake for my co-worker and friend Amber, (standing to the left of me) who was the cat in "If You Give a Cat a Cupcake"  Madison (far left) was the mouse in "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" and Kristi (far right) was the pig in "If You Give a Pig a Party".  We had a great time dressing up for our annual character stroll.  I love these gals!  They make coming to work so much easier :)   Now I am off to the craft dungeon hoping to gain some crafting inspiration!  Christmas cards.....here I come!

Halloween Goodies!

These are some fun goodie bags that I made last year for my students last year.  I am gearing up to make this years students something special as well.  I really love the Create a Critter 2 cartridge!  I just purchased Monster Bash and have been enjoying this cartridge.  I look forward to posting some super spooky projects!  I have been missing in action over the last month or so.  This school year has brought forth many challenges and new stress levels with implementing the Common Core.  Not to mention that the beginning of the school year is just plain stressful in itself!  I am hoping to get back into the grove of stamping, paper crafting, scrapbooking, and most of all  CREATING!  I was in a creative rut or I guess you could call it a "brain freeze" and couldn't find my mojo.  I just didn't have the desire to want to create anything lately but I managed to make my way down to the craft dungeon and started to pull out some of my Halloween stamps, cricut cartridges, and other supplies.  It seemed to bring back the spark!   I am working on a few projects and hope to post those soon.  I hope you all have a blessed week -love your family, love your friends, and enjoy life!.....stress free LOL

More things in the making!

I liked how the job bulletin board turned out but the words "Hero Helpers" seem to have disappeared with the busy background of the fabric that I used.  Oh well....I still like it :)  I used the Classic Font cartridge for the letters.

I am going to use this bulletin board for posting all of the wonderful books that we will be reading this year.  I cannot wait to see how many we will read!
Hope everyone is having a fantastic day!

I'M BACK!!!

Wow, what a crazy, busy past few weeks this has been.  The beginning of a new school year can be extremely hectic but fun!  Here are a few photos of things that I have created for the classroom to represent the "superhero" theme.  I wanted to find something that both the boys and girls would enjoy so I went with "The Incredibles"......let me know what you think!
I need to add an apostrophe to my door!  The work is still in progress but so far I think the students really like the theme!  I used the Best of Pixar, Cricut Classic Font, and Batman cartridges.
I like to use table numbers so I decided to make these to hang above each group.  More photos of bulletin boards and other goodies to come!  I hope everyone is enjoying the three day weekend.  The end of summer is bittersweet but to tell you the truth I am really looking forward to Fall.  Happy Crafting!!!!!

JoAnn Fabrics

Just a friendly reminder if you need to sign up or renew your card for the Teacher Rewards program.  I love JoAnn Fabrics and really love that they support educators.  I visited my local store today to pick up some school supplies and sewing supplies.  My discount really helps me save money!  August 9th and 10th JoAnn Fabrics is offering a 25% teacher discount on regular, sale, and clearance items.  Don't miss this great opportunity to save!!
I have been super busy creating some things for this years school theme.  I am keeping them a surprise until I decorate the classroom.  I will post pictures soon!  I think the students will be super excited when they return!
The CKC Lancaster convention was a blast!  Had a great time learning new scrapbooking and card making techniques.  I think my favorite class was learning about the Faber-Castell Gelatos!   Lots of fun was had by all!  I will post some pictures of the layouts I created at the scrapbooking convention this week.
This is a bittersweet time of the year for all teachers!  Summer vacation is winding down and the beginning of the school year stress creeps upon us!
Stay tuned for a give-a-way!!  Now it's time to head down to the crafting dungeon to finish up those classroom decorations.

Back to School card

It has been a while since I made any cards so I thought I would head down to the dungeon and start crafting away.  I used the Create Your Classroom "Back to School" stamp set which you can purchase on my blog (click on the store tab) and I had the pleasure of using Tombow Dual Brush Pens (Grunge colors) and Tombow color pencils (deep tone 1 colors)  These pens and colored pencils are awesome!  Not only did I like the colors but after I stamped my image they did not smudge or smear. They display a very smooth texture on the 110 pound white card stock.  Thank you Tombow for allowing me the opportunity to use these fantastic products.  I look forward to using them in the future again.  Well, here's to burning down the midnight oil.  I am headed back down to the craft dungeon for more card making and some "super" cute classroom decorations that I hope to post soon......I am trying to keep it a surprise for my new kiddos!

I finally got a chance to get "creative" last night and was able to begin my classroom decorations.  I am really looking forward to decorating my room this year.  The school theme is superheros and I think I have found the perfect "fit" for the classroom.  Lots to do!!!!    I will be back in the classroom before I know it.  Target and Walmart have already put out their classroom supplies :)  Happy Thursday everyone!!

Hello everyone!

Wow it has been a long time since I posted anything!  It has been a whirlwind ever since school let out.  I miss my kids but wish them the best as they venture off for summer break.  Within days of the last day of school, my family took off on a plane to visit that wonderful mouse again!  What a fantastic vacation!  My family loves Disney World!! Here is a picture of the four of us at the Magic Kingdom and yes, I got everyone the same shirt! LOL  It makes it easier to find each other.
I took a break from Create Your Classroom so I  could spend some well needed quality time with my family.  I am truly missing the craft!  So I will be hitting the crafting dungeon very soon.  There are so many ideas swirling in my head for this years upcoming school theme and I can't wait to get started.  I am also looking forward to attending the Creating Keepsakes Scrapbooking Convention at the end of this month.  Hoping to get my mojo back!  Hope you have been enjoying your summer as much as I have.  I'll be posting again soon!!!!  Happy Saturday!

I thought I would share a "blast" from the past project.  These bookmarks are a great way to blast them off into the fourth grade!!  I encourage my students each year at the beginning of the summer to participate in the local public library reading program.  The best part of this reading program is that it is FREE!!!  When students return to school in the Fall, they visit me and show me that they participated in the reading program-I love to give them a prize!!  I think these bookmarks will help encourage them to read over the summer and take part in the reading program.  Here are the materials used for the project:
Materials:
BLAST OFF cartridge for the Imagine-used for the rocket
LOCKER TALK cartridge used for the bookmark, star
SMILEY FACES cartridge-used for the clouds
MICKEY FONT cartridge-letters welded with the Gypsy
Peachy Keen Stamp set-Teacher Says!
Momento black ink
pink and white gel pens
string
1/2 hole punch
red, white, and yellow cardstock
Counting down to summer vacation!  I am truly going to miss my students but I know in my heart they are ready to move forward!

Happy Mother's Day!

I just want to wish all of my crafty buddies out there a very Happy Mother's Day!  I hope you get to take the time to enjoy your loved ones and remember those who have passed that remain in your heart.  I am very blessed to have a wonderful husband of 18 years and two fantastic boys (one 17 and one 13)  They grow up so fast!  I am going to enjoy every minute with them-every second!  I have taken a break from the crafting world to spend more time with my boys.  My oldest will be graduating next year and I feel him slipping through my fingers as we speak.  He is growing into a wonderful young man and I am so very proud of him.  Before I know it he is going to be in college.  My youngest is working his way through adolescents and is trying to find his way.  I hope you all are able to enjoy this wonderful day enjoying your family.
I will be working on some projects in the near future so stick around!  I am looking forward to a family Disney trip and of course, the Creating Keepsakes Convention in July!!!!  Happy Mother's Day and I hope you have a fantastic day, maybe sneak in some crafting?!

Earth Day is coming!!!

Hello everyone!!  Wow time flies.  It has been quite a while since I posted anything on my blog.  Life gets in the way sometimes.  The Pendarvis family has been quite busy around the house lately.  We have been working on planting flowers, cleaning up the yard, and getting the swimming pool ready to open up in a few weeks.  Spring finally decided to make an appearance.  Honestly, I never thought it would get here.  Well, here is a quick and easy project I made so I thought I would share.
I used the Hoot and Holler cartridge for these Earth Day cards.  A teacher in my building sponsors the "Green" club and asked me to whip up some thank you cards for students who made contributions throughout the school year.  They will be attached to a reusable water bottle as a thank you gift for all of their hard work.  Our school recycles so many things such as plastic, glass, clothes, rain water, paper, and juice pouches!  Not only is our school saving the planet but we are earning money for our school!!! I hope you will be doing something to stay "GREEN" on Earth Day and everyday.  Have a super week!!

I used everything in my craft room except for my Cricut :0!!!!  I made this Easter card using DCWV spring paper pack, Sew Easy from Memory Makers to add the stitching, Basic Grey button brads, buttons, McGill punch for label, Martha Stewart punch for the edging, scallop punch, 1 3/8 and 1 1/2 circle punches, Prima Flowers, My Creative Time "Color Me Happy" and "Happy Hunting" stamps, Close to My Heart "Watermelon" ink pad, ribbon, and Copic Markers to add some color to the bunny stamp! The finished card is 4 1/4 by 5 1/2.
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!

Happy Easter Banner

My mantle was a little plain so I decided to spruce it up and make an Easter banner.  Well if you know me, I have to draw it, sketch it out, and design it on paper before I just start cutting away.  But this time I just started cutting and went with it!  I used the Easter 2010 cartridge to cut the eggs at 6 inches.  Happy Easter and the bunny were cut at 4 inches.  I made the polka dots from a 1 inch circle punch and added them to the lavender eggs to give them a little design.   Actually this project did not take very long to make which is why I enjoyed making it so much!
Trying to decorate the house for Easter in hopes to put a little "spring" in my step.  Spring sure has taken its time making an appearance.  I hope everyone is having a fantastic week!
