Recess Lite Cartridge

When this cartridge first came out I HAD TO HAVE IT!!!  What is so funny is that I haven't had a chance to use it until now (it has been sitting on my shelf for months ;0)  I wanted to make a card for one of my parent volunteers who always takes the time to work with my students for math enrichment and plan all of my classroom parties and events.  I do not know what I would do without her!!!  Here are the materials used for the project:
Materials:
Recess Lite Cricut Cartridge -books/apple cut at 3 inches
My Creative Time curly label die
My Creative Time "My Teacher Rocks" stamp set
Peachy Keen "Everyday Character Face & Assortment" stamp set
CTMH-Star Spangled Blue Ink pad
Memento black ink pad
Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder
ribbon, pop-dots, brads and a white and black Sakura gel pen

Hope you have a fun and creative week!!!  I am still fighting this sinus infection-no fun!!!  :)

Quarter Note cartridge

The music teacher at the school where I work asked me to create a card for the parent volunteer who helped with the 5th grade performance.  The only idea she gave me was to use music notes so I thought the Quarter Note cartridge was the  perfect fit.  I used a piece of 12 by 24 cardstock and folded it in half using a bone folder to create the 12 by 12 card.  I cut the piano image at 6 inches, the music notes at 2 1/2, the rose at 4 inches and the words at 4 inches as well.  I thought the card needed something so I punched the edge of the white cardstock on the front using a Martha Stewart punch ( I think it gave it just enough to make it stand out without over doing it)  All of the students who participated in the performance will sign it and give it to the parent volunteer this week.  I hope she likes it!!  We don't know what we would do without our volunteers-they keep everything going!!!!  Have a great week everyone.

Create a Critter bookmarkers for students!!!

I wanted to make something for my students to take with them on spring break (which is right around the corner!)  My hope is that they continue to read over the break (keeping my teacher fingers crossed ;)-)  I came up with this idea to create small bookmarks for students.  I grabbed my old favorite cartridge "Create a Critter" and also the "Graphically Speaking" cartridge to cut out the images and the arrows.  I hot glued a jumbo paper clip to the back so students could clip the bookmark into their book for easy use.  The images were cut at 2 1/2 inches and the arrows were cut at 3 inches.  I also used Peachy Keen stamp sets to help add a little character to those critters!!  White and black gel pens were used for the stitching and I popped them up using pop-dots to give them some dimension.  I think my kiddos will really enjoy them while they continue to read over the break (still keeping those fingers crossed LOL!)  Well, a teacher should always try!!!! ;)

A Valentine Treat for students!

I know this post is over a week late ;0-but I have been feeling under the weather and haven't had a chance to post this.  I quickly made up more of these lollipop holder treats for all of the students in my class.  They were a hit!  My students loved them and they were able to put  smiles on their faces :)  I truly love this lollipop holder die from Emma at www.mycreativetime.com.  I used the George Basic Shapes cartridge to cut out the hearts which took no time at all-this is a super quick and easy project to make for your students, family, or friends.  Sorry this is so late ;)  Have a wonderful week everyone-it is now off to JoAnn Fabrics and Michaels to go shopping, hopefully to catch a few deals!

sign for my craft room :)

I made a sign to hang on the top of my bookshelves where I store all of my 200 + cartridges :0!!!!  I thought this would be a great addition to my craft dungeon.  I used the Everyday Cricut cartridge and the George Basic shapes to create this.  George Basic shapes was used for the white/green rectangles and the heart.  Everyday Cricut was used to cut out the bug and "Will work for cartridges" and "Love my bug" signs.  I truly love all of my Cricut machines and cartridges.  It has truly changed the way that I craft.  I don't know what I would do without my Cricut!!!!!!!
